Overview of Blades of Brim
Blades of Brim is a 3-lane endless running game. In this game, you will run as a hero and face enemies on the way. Your main goal is to kill the enemies and run as long as you can. There will be obstacles like pots, bushes, pitfalls, etc. that you have to avoid. During a run, you get 3 hearts. Whenever you collide with an obstacle or an enemy attack you, you will lose a heart. For a short duration, you will become invincible after losing a heart. You will have no effect on collisions & attacks.
When you lose all three hearts, you will die and the game will be over. If you fall into a pitfall, then you will lose all the hearts immediately and you will die. On killing the enemies and breaking the pots, you will get score points. Your final score will be the addition of enemies killed, pots destroyed, combos performed. It will also depend on your score bonus percentage.
When you achieve a certain amount of score, a crystal will appear on the way that will summon the goons. Kill those goons and destroy the crystal. After that, your running speed will increase along with the difficulty level of the game. To give a feeling of making progress, this game has a level system. You can complete the quests for that purpose. On completing the quest, you will get XP & Essence. XP is required to increase the player’s level. On leveling up, new power-ups, stages, and monsters unlock. Essence is the in-game currency.
Controls
The controls are very easy. It has the swiping actions to control the character. Swipe left & right to change the lanes. Swipe up to jump and swipe down to roll. When there is an enemy in an adjacent lane, swipe in that direction, and your character will automatically attack him. If the enemy is in your lane, then simply swipe down or up to attack him depending on the enemy type.
You can also run on the walls for a short distance. To do that, simply swipe in the wall’s direction like swipe left if the wall is on the left side. These are the controls. Easy, right? You can easily understand them. You only have to master your reflexes.
Power-ups
There are many types of power-ups:
Midas Touch – When you pick the Midas touch, it converts all the enemies into coins or golden statues. You can simply run into them and get the coins. It’s the best power-up to get more coins.
Magic Shield – Magic shield grants you a shield that will protect you from dying for a limited period. Even if you fall into a pitfall, you will be back on the ground.
Poison Strike – Poison strike is the best power-up to kill any type of enemy in a single hit. While running, you will face some enemies that will take more than one strike for killing them. But with this power-up, you only need to attack him once.
Golden Wings – Golden wing has multiple powers. Gliding, coin magnet, and increased attack range are some of its powers. Your score combo chain will not break until you step on the ground. Isn’t this power-up amazing?
