Overview of Farming Simulator 18
Gameplay
In Farming Simulator 18, you will start as a farmer with 1 meadow, 2 fields, 1 combine harvester, 1 cultivator, 1 trailer, and 2 tractors. On one field, wheat is ready to be harvested and the second field is ready to be cultivated. Drive the combine and harvest the wheat. You can use an AI helper that will harvest the wheat automatically. But it will cost money. Attach the trailer to the tractor and drive it under the combine when the combine harvester’s tank is full. It will then automatically unload the wheat into the trailer. Then you can store that wheat at silo or sell it at one of the selling points. Buy more fields with the money and grow your business. You can also raise cows, sheep, and pigs.
Controls
The controls are very simple. On the right side of the screen, you can see the slider. Swipe up on the slider to accelerate the vehicle and swipe down on the red area to reverse. There is one more slider on the left side that is used to steer the vehicle left and right. You can also tilt your device to steer. Double-tap anywhere to change the camera between front and rear. Swipe up on the screen to zoom out and swipe down to zoom in. To change the camera, swipe left and right on the screen.
Farming
There are 6 types of crops you can grow: Wheat, Corn, Sugar Beet, Sunflower, Potatoes, and Canola. You need to cultivate the field with a cultivator to loosen up the soil first, then sow the seed with a sowing machine, and then let it grow until it’s ready for harvest. After that harvest the crop with a harvester machine. Take the harvested crop to the market where you can sell it at a high price to earn profit. Not only crops, but you can raise cows, sheep, and pigs too. Feed the cows and sheep with hay to get the milk and wool. You can give canola, acorn, and straw to pigs so that they can reproduce. Then you can sell the pigs to earn more money.
Vehicles & Tools
There are 80 farming vehicles and tools that you are based on the real brands like Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Challenger, Grimme, etc. There are tractors, harvesters, headers, tippers, cultivators, sowing machines, fertilizer spreaders, mowers, tedders, windrowers, bale tools, and forestry tools. Each type of machine has its own use. The mower is used to cut the grass, the loading wagon picks the hay, and the baler is used to make hay bales. You can use the front loader to pick up the bales and load them into the trailer. Play the game and use all types of tools.
Product Selling
There are 8 selling points where you can sell your products. Each point buys the products at different prices so it’s better to sell the products where you can earn more money. In the price menu, you can see the product’s price list of all selling points. The price of a product falls down if you sell the same product over & over again at the same selling point. So you can sell different crops at high prices.
